The Town of Mount Olive has been approached by several concerned citizens asking about how they can help the people of Haiti who are dealing with the unimaginable destruction of the recent earthquake. Although the Town does not have a formal response structure in place, we have been in contact with the United Methodist Church which has already put their organization into action. To make it easier for Mount Olive residents who wish to help, the Town will collect donations at Town Hall and get them to the church or they can be taken directly to the First United Methodist Church at the Corner of James and Church Street. Donations must be in by February 1, 2010 and checks should be made to FUMC with Haitian Relief fund in the memo line.
